White Out
While bold prints and pastels have been hugely popular this season, nothing symbolises summer quite like white. It was dazzling, bright white which stole the show at the Spring/Summer 2012 fashion weeks. All-white pieces floated down the catwalks, with delicate and sheer fabric demonstrating how when worn well, all white can be romantic and feminine. Although this trend is somewhat impractical , the chic and fresh look you’ll achieve by wearing it is worth it.
Wear this trend top to toe and break up the monotony by using texture to add interest and definition. Lace and broderie anglaise are ideal fabrics for adding personality to an all-white ensemble. Sheer panelling, lace overlays and ruffles will all embellish the trend and keep you looking angelic.
With a base colour like white, you can dress it up and accessorise with anything you fancy as it’s such a versatile colour. If top to toe white is a little too daunting, add a splash of colour with neon accessories which will look fresh against white or pair a bright blouse with white jeans for a refreshing take on the colour blocking trend.
