Ted Baker’s Survival Of The Fittest AW12 Collection
The summer may be slipping away, but in terms of fashion there is nothing more exciting than having a sneak peek at what the autumn/winter high street has to offer. Jo (Style Compare’s head of fashion) and I were invited to Ted Baker’s AW12 fashion preview, and we couldn’t wait to catch a glimpse of what Ted has in store for next season.
The theme for the new collection is ‘Survival of the Fittest’ and although the catwalk backdrop was woodland prints lit with soft green and blue tones, there were no muted winter colours and trends on show when the models took centre stage.
Ted Baker’s AW12 collection is packed with everything from punchy mustards and pillar box reds, to bold, floral prints and intense faux fur.
When it rains it pours (this summer has certainly taught us that), but now you can take cover under a galactic print umbrella, or maybe even a floral one – the rain will never get you down if you carry a statement brolly!
Models then came down the runway blacked out in sharp tailored suits and trench coats to the tune of Michael Jackson’s “Beat It”.
We’ll be wrapping up in one of Ted’s fur numbers in a range of beautiful bright shades – they’re designed for the bold and are bound to brighten up the autumn.
As if the clothing wasn’t fabulous enough, red moustaches graced the catwalk – we’re not sure if they’ll catch on, but we love them!
Our favourite Johnny Depp lookalike model (also spotted on Ted’s SS12 catwalk) looked devilishly handsome in a suit with a pale stripe shirt.
Ted’s use of bold colours, gorgeous prints and a funky take on tailoring is a perfect statement this winter – and we’re well up for venturing into this glitzy and exciting world of colour; has this collection inspired you to do the same? And below is a clip from the show…
We’re already saving up to splash out on our favourite AW12 pieces, but if you can’t wait to splurge, check out some of the Ted Baker looks available to buy right now…
